When the aroma of mold wafted from the cabinet under the kitchen sink we called Armstrong Water Mold Cleanup and Restorations on a Tuesday. They sent their ACE Technician Jose that very afternoon to have a look and a sniff. Jose confirmed there was a mold issue in and/or under the cabinet Nick then contacted us with a proposal to examine and remove existing mold and mold-damaged wood. Wednesday morning Jose arrived with two assistants and tented the island area to contain any mold that was disturbed. They dismantled some of the kitchen island cupboards, sorry, cabinets...I lived in England for too long. They removed damaged wood and pointed out the hole in the concrete slab where the water pipes emerged, suggesting we fill the hole with cement. When they departed, Jose told us to keep the HEPP filters running for four to five hours. On Thursday we had the hole filled and the cabinets rebuilt and on Friday Jose returned with his handy helper to dismantle the tent and help with a few other items. We couldn't be happier with the Jose's work ethic and support from the office staff in Ft. Myers.

OUR MOLD REMEDIATION PROCESS

Step 1: Free Mold Inspection

We conduct a thorough visual inspection of your home, check moisture levels, and identify areas of concern. If testing is warranted, we explain options for air quality sampling and surface testing.

Step 2: Mold Testing (If Needed)

We coordinate professional mold testing with a certified industrial hygienist when the scope of contamination needs to be defined or when post-remediation clearance testing is required. Testing provides legal documentation and confirms our work is complete.

Step 3: Containment

Before any mold is disturbed, we set up containment barriers with negative air pressure to prevent mold spores from spreading to unaffected areas. We use polyethylene sheeting, air scrubbers with HEPA filtration, and negative air pressure machines. This step is non-negotiable. Improper containment is how amateur remediation turns a small mold problem into a whole-house problem.

Step 4: Air Filtration

HEPA air scrubbers run continuously throughout the project, capturing airborne mold spores down to 0.3 microns in size. This protects both our crew and your family if you remain in unaffected areas of the home.

Step 5: Mold Removal

Can I just bleach the mold myself?
